CGT of Argentina Prepares for Mobilization Against Labor Reform

Buenos Aires, December 15 (NA). - The leadership of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) agreed with Peronist deputies to coordinate a series of actions to reject the labor reform, prior to the mobilization that the union center will carry out this Thursday against that government initiative.

The meeting took place at the CGT headquarters, located at Azopardo 800, where there was a commitment from the deputies of Union for the Homeland to support the union position of opposing that proposal that changes the main laws that regulate the labor market, as learned by the Argentine News Agency.

The meeting was led by the general secretaries of the CGT, Christian Jerónimo, Jorge Salas, and Octavio Argüello, and attended by deputies Nicolás Trotta, Guillermo Snopek, José Glinski, Santiago Roberto, and Pablo Todero, among others.

«Our position is clear: we will not allow acquired rights to be trampled,» Snopek posted on social media X.

The CGT stated that it received Peronist deputies «to coordinate actions in the face of the debate on the 'labor modernization' project of the Executive Branch and to call for the mobilization of Thursday 18/12».

«On the street and in Congress: we defend rights and the right to strike,» wrote the central labor organization on social media X.

«Key meeting at the CGT with the triumvirate (Sola, Jerónimo and Argüello), together with the bloc's deputies, to analyze the labor reform project».
